Being able to read your opponent is crucial in poker. It is what differentiates a game of skill such as poker from other games of chance such as roulette. Everybody has poker tells at the table and the more you observe, the better you will be able to read what a player is thinking and what cards they hold. Poker tells include any source of information that you can gather from an opponent including physical movement, changing and patterns of talking as well as how they move the chips around the table.

The Eyes Reading a player starts with their eyes. Watch how they view the world and you will gain insight into their thoughts. An opponent who glances at their chips immediately after seeing the flop is thinking about betting and likely has a monster. Some players will stare at their hole cards longer than normal when they have a big hand. When the flop comes down and the player stares at the flop as if staring straight through it, they have often missed.

The Hole Cards Double checking the hole cards usually means a weak hand. People don’t often double check big pairs because they remember what it was the first time. Looking away and uninterested after seeing the hole cards is a dead give away for strength. Squeezing out the second hole card sometimes means the first card seen is an ace. Checking the hole cards on a flop that is all the same suited usually implies someone doesn’t have the flush.

Patterns in Betting In poker, one thing that is often true is that strong means weak and weak means strong. Any player that forcefully shove chips into the middle looking aggressive is on a bluff. The reverse is also true.

Chip Stacks If you ever notice a player winning a large pot and stacking their chips from the last hand, they will not play the hand unless they have good cards. Tight conservative players keep neat stacks and loose aggressive players usually have unkempt stacks.

Speaking at the table If an opponent is having a conversation during a poker hand and his talk is all of the place, as if his mind is on something else, it usually means he is not too confident in his hand. This correlates to a weak poker hand. Conversely, if a player is talking smoothly while in a hand, it means he is not overly concerned about the hand he is playing. This is because he feels comfortable and usually means a big hand.

There are many poker tells. If you keep your eyes open and always watch the table, you’ll be on the right track to becoming a great player.

Poker is a beautiful and unique game played by a great number of wonderful characters across the globe. Over the years, numerous nicknames for poker hands have developed, some in humour, some out of tragedy, but all as fascinating as the game itself.

The most powerful hand before the flop in Texas Holdem Poker is two Aces. Subsquently they generate the most excitement and colourful names. The most common names for two Aces are Rockets, Pocket Rockets, and Bullets (for obvious reasons). They are named after several famous people and organisations with initials starting with the letter “A” including Alan Alda, Albert Anastasia, and American Airlines. They are also known as numerous pointy and sharp objects including Rocky Mountains, Sticks, Teepees and Two Pips. A few obscure references include Squirrel (the nuts) and Batteries (Double A). Individual names for a single Ace include Bull, Bullet, Death Card (spades), Mastercard, One Spot, Puppy Foot (clubs), Seed, Sharp Top, Spike and Tax Card (spades).

Two kings are another strong hand preflop in holdem and are commonly known as Cowboys. Another name is Butchers of Baghdad (so named in reference to Saddam Hussein on the Iraqi most wanted playing cards). Alliterations of KK include Krispy Kreme and King Kong (and also Gorillas, Gorillas in the Mist). Ace Magnets is common because an Ace always comes on the flop. A King is also known as David (spades), Julius Caesar or One eyed king (diamonds), K-Boy, Monarch, Sergeant, Alexander (clubs), Charlemagne or Charles (hearts). Another fitting term for this hand is The Elvis Presley (The King of Rock n Roll).

Queens often cop the short end of nicknames, partly because of the number of times they are beaten by Aces and Kings, but also through reference to homosexuality. Common polite terms include Ladies, Lovely Ladies, Calamity Jane (likely extensive of Cowboys for KK) and Snowshoes (owing to their resemblance to the original shape of snowshoes). More crude nicknames include Four T*ts, Jail-house Rock, Siegfried and Roy and B***hes.

Other pairs such as Jacks through to Twos all have a nickname or two. Jacks are commonly known as Hooks or Fish-hooks. Less known names include Rent boys, Kid Dyne-o-mite (TV show reference), Brothers, Jay Birds, John Juanda (Poker Player) and finally possible the most vulgar – Colostomy Bag (as Jack is slang for toilet in some countries). Two Tens are referenced as Two Dimes, TNT, Dynamite and Binary (In Binary 1010 is the equivalent of 10). Nines are known as Barbara Feldon (Get Smart- Agent 99), German Virgins (Nein), Phil Helmuth (Won WSOP in 1989), Popeye, Pot hooks and Wayne Gretzky (Hockey Player). Two eights are Snowmen, Dawg Balls, Piano Keys, Little Oldsmobile, Racetracks, Two Fat Ladies, Lacey, Pretzels, and Wurlitzer. Sevens are axes, mullets, hockey sticks or walking sticks. A couple of sixes are known as Cherries, Boots or Kicks (On Route 66). Fives are Presto, Snakes or Speed Limit, while Fours are Canadian Presto, Dark Force, Darth Vader, Magnum and Sail boats. A Pair of threes is either crabs (claw shaped like the number 3) or treys and a pair of Twos is usually Deuces, Ducks, or Quack Quack (in reference to the number two being shaped like a duck).

Hands that aren’t a pair often have nicknames too. Ace-King is commnoly known as Big Slick. Names include backronyms such as Korean Airlines and King Arthur as well as normally acronyms such as Anna Kournikova. The Kalashnikov is another nickname, aptly named after the designer of the AK-47. An Ace and a Queen is known as Big Chick or Mrs Slick. Notable hands include Jack-Four (Flat Tire – what’s a Jack for?), J6 (Rail Road – phonetics of Jacks n Sixes sounds like a train). Probably the least appealing and most famous hand is the Ten-Deuce also known as the Doyle Brunson after he successful made two full houses in World Series of Poker final tables.

There are thousands of hand nicknames and only a few of the commoner ones have been listed here. If you are interesting in other poker starting hand nicknames I recommend checking out Wikipedia for an extensive list of common names.

Bodog Poker has been around since 1994. Founded by Calvin Ayre, it was one of the first of the online poker sites, and is really less of a poker room and more of a lifestyle. The site is known for its sports book, boxing, mixed martial arts, music, video games, brand licensing and casino among others. At some point in its life, Bodog Poker has touched upon just about every facet of gambling and entertainment.

The two veteran poker professionals, David Williams and Evelyn Ng have been a part of representing the Bodog brand stalwartly throughout all the vicissitudes and innovations that have come to pass over its lifetime. The company is licensed by the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group which also owns its main product and the company is presently turning their focus on building player confidence, giving players an enjoyable experience and on software that meets the highest expectations.

The foggy grey and black borders lend an air of mystery to the software which, along with the extensive gaming platform, makes for a very appealing product. The download is fast and seamless. The players can play up to four tables simultaneously, a feature any multitasker will adore. There is a way cool preferences tab in the upper right corner of the screen that can be used to leap to the sports book in a flash and also allows for an easy scan through the site’s resources.

The quick seating feature is next to the preference tab and is another nice means for software customization. A unique feature of Bodog Poker is the horse racing book, seldom found anywhere else and this is located under the preferences tab also. The table settings and game details are very simple to sort through and are yet another fine addition to the experience. If you feel like changing the color of the felt or altering the shape of the avatar, go ahead its your environment to play in, so customize it to your own specifications and make the cash games and tournament play that much better.

There is no player or table counter but if you go on over to the poker homepage of Bodog Poker you will find a current player count and expect it to read around six to ten thousand. There are all forms of holdem on the site as well as Omaha, Omaha hi-lo, five card stud, seven card stud and seven card stud hi-lo. Blind bets begin at $.02/.05 and head on up to $30/60.

Don’t overlook the tournaments and there is the total gamete of card action. For the price of a gumball, you can buy into a tournament ($.25) and still get a prize pool guaranteed as high as $200,000. Instead of the quarter buy in, you can invest up to $200. With all the action going on everywhere, bonuses are not that difficult to amass

Bodog Poker offers Royal Flush and bad beat bonuses to all comers and whether the player is lucky or unlucky they will have a blast anticipating a windfall. You can also turn your poker points into real money, just one more attraction that proves the site values its customers. And don’t forget the promotions of double points, all of this is sure to pay off for the loyal and diligent player. There are loads of freerolls every day, point buy in tournaments and sweet tournament prize overlays to keep old clients loyal and new clients joining in.

Bodog Poker has contact with over fifteen countries by international telephone numbers making this a global enterprise. It is licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission which brings veracity and accountability to the tables. Bodog Poker has obtained distinctive brands in Europe and Asia and partners with such industry honchos as Haydock Sports, so players’ needs are never neglected. The support consists of both form and email where queries can be made and promptly and accurately responded to. Website security and player privacy is operated by Axolotl Online Inc., and licensing associate Patrik Selin, so players can be convinced that Bodog Poker is serious about its high level of support, resources and security.

The CEO is currently Alwyn Morris who is none other than an Olympic Gold medalist, Order of Canada recipient, noted Canadian sportsman, First Nations leader and former Associate Director for the Mohawk Council of Chiefs in Kahnawake. What a guy! It is apparent that Bodog Poker is in very capable hands to ensure its continued success. Bodog Poker is based in Antigua in the Caribbean, a paradise in itself and the players will find their own paradise on the website. Bodog Poker has been around and gaining in experience and expertise for 15 years which makes it motto “It’s better in our book” a true statement.

Traditional venues for playing poker, such as casinos and poker rooms, can be intimidating for new players and are often located in geographically disparate locations. In the past, casinos have been reluctant to promote poker because it is less profitable for them than traditional casino games. Though the rake of traditional casinos is often high, the opportunity costs of running a poker room are even higher. Brick and mortar casinos often make much more money by removing poker rooms and adding more slot machines.

By contrast, online venues are dramatically cheaper because of the smaller overhead costs. Adding more tables costs an online poker room nothing and takes up no valuable space, but makes dozens of players who can sit at those new tables happy. This is how the online venues can let players sit at tables with such low stakes, going all the way down to 1/2, and offer promotions like freeroll tournaments (meaning no entry fee).

There are lots of promotions and features that online poker sites offer to attract new players. Satellite tournaments are a major feature, in which the winner will gain entry into a real-life poker tournament, usually a major one like the World Series of Poker. Chris Moneymaker won the 2003 WSOP and he gained entry through a satellite. The popularity of poker, specifically Texas Hold em, exploded and the following year saw three times as many entrants into the WSOP. In 2004 four players at the final table had all won entry through a satellite tournament, and Greg Raymer, who won that year, was one of those four.

Critics have argued that online venues may be more vulnerable to fraud, especially collusion between players. But security employees can look at hand history of the cards played by any player on the site, making patterns of behavior much easier to detect than in a casino where it’s possible for a player to avoid detection by simply folding. Poker rooms also disallow players from sitting at the same table or in the same tournament if they are using an identical IP address.

In October 2004, Sportingbet, at the time the world’s largest publicly traded online gaming company (SBT.L), announced the acquisition of ParadisePoker.com, one of the online poker industry’s first and largest cardrooms. The $340 million dollar acquisition marked the first time an online cardroom was owned by a public company. Since then, several other cardroom parent companies have gone public.

In June 2005, PartyGaming, the parent company of the then largest online cardroom, PartyPoker, went public on the London Stock Exchange, achieving an initial public offering market value in excess of $8 billion dollars. At the time of the IPO, ninety-two percent of Party Gaming’s income came from poker operations.

As of March 2008, there are fewer than forty stand-alone cardrooms and poker networks with detectable levels of traffic. There are however more than 600 independent doorways or ‘skins’ into the group of network sites. As of January 2009, the majority of online poker traffic occurs on just a few major networks, among them PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and the iPoker Network. The vast majority of high stakes action takes place on Full Tilt Poker, with the top ten winning players from 2008 all coming from this site.

More recently, there are a little over 500 online poker websites. 16 of those are stand-alone sites, the remaining are all skins and operate on 21 different networks, the largest of which is iPoker. Poker Stars net is the world’s largest online poker room, it has the highest number of players online at any one time.

Poker is a family of various card games played by two or more player who bet on the value of their hands. Numerous versions exist with each version differing based on the number of cards dealt, specific nuances and rules, betting limitations and hand rankings.

The history of poker is the subject of debate. Around 969 AD, the Chinese emperor Mu-Tsung is reported to have played ‘domino cards’ with his wife. Egyptians in the 12th and 13th centuries had a version of playing cards. The Persians in the 16th century had a 96-card game “Ganjifa” and a 25-card version “As Nas”. An early known card game incorporating betting, hand rankings and bluffing was a German game entitled ‘Pochspiel’ popular in the 15th century. The French played a game called ‘Poque’. Both games derived from the German ‘pochen’ (‘to brag as a bluff’, ‘to knock’). Other early versions include the Renaissance game of ‘Primero’, the French game ‘Brelan’ and the English game ‘Brag’.

Irrespective of the early origins of poker, the modern day game differs significantly with focus upon unique features such as betting that do not appear in any older version. The modern origin of Poker is believe to have occurred in the mid 1700s spreading through the paddle steamers of the Mississippi River by 1800. Most likely introduced by French colonials arriving in Canada.

Initially poker was played with a reduced deck of only 20 cards including the aces, kings, queens, jacks and tens. The hand rankings were as follows: one pair, two pair, triplets, full and four of a kind. There was no concept of flushes or straights. Around the middle of the 1830s, the 52-card version of poker became gradually introduced to accommodate more than four players and to increase the potential of the newly introduced concept of the ‘flush’. In the late 1840s, ‘drawing’ a card became a popular variation as it allowed greater scope for gambling with a second round of betting. It also allowed initially poor hands to greatly improve. After the middle of the 19th century, poker spread quickly and numerous variations on the game begin to evolve into the modern forms we know today.

The modern history of poker can be attributed to a few key events over the last decades that catapulted poker into the mainstream. The first event to publicise poker is the release of the 1998 film ‘Rounders’ starring John Malkovich, Edward Norton and Matt Damon. The next key step in the history of poker is the modernisation of poker including easily accessible televised tournaments with hole card cameras including the likes of the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour. The final event that changed the history of poker forever is the victory of Chris Moneymaker, an unknown amateur player, in the 2003 World Series of Poker.

Millions are won and lost everyday in Online Poker. It can be daunting for a new player keen to start making real money with so many bonuses and poker rooms available today.

Millions are won and lost everyday in Online Poker. It can be daunting for a new player keen to start making real money with so many bonuses and poker rooms available today.

It is easy to make lots of small mistakes when signing up to Online Poker. Often missed opportunities mean that you lose a lot of value that you could have otherwise obtained. We hope to guide you through the first stages of playing Online Poker.

1) Pick a popular poker room – The largest and most popular rooms are also the most reputable. I recommend choosing on the big three and these include Pokerstars, Full Tilt Poker and Ultimate Bet.

2) Sign up to the poker room through a reputable rakeback provider to collect a deposit bonus – Online Poker rooms offer bonuses to sign up new players. When you first sign up to a room you have the opportunity to sign up for a few financial extras including a) First Deposit Bonus b) Rakeback c) Rake Races d) Free Rolls. There are many reputable rakeback providers including Rakeback Power, Rakebrain and Raketherake. Most offers between sites are similar but check out a few and ensure you follow the sign-up instructions correctly.

3) Get used to the poker room and practice with play money – Start at the play money tables. Tweak the poker room settings to your liking and get used to buttons, sounds, and graphics. When you are comfortable with the room, it’s time to consider a real money deposit. Deposit Bonuses usually match your initial deposit i.e. Deposit $600 and get a $600 Bonus. The bonuses are slowly released after you play a certain number of hands.

4) Money and Finances – There are many deposit options available. A recommended and reputable option is Neteller. Take the time to read through different financial options. Most charge a small fee.

5) Forums and Strategies
It is time to start improving your game. Check out Two Plus Two Forums. This is the oldest poker forum on the Internet and any question you have about poker is likely to have already been answered.

6) Poker Books – There are numerous books around to improve your poker skills. I recommended starting off simple with either Doyle Brunson’s “Super System” or Dan Harrington’s “Harrington on Holdem”. There is no bad book on poker, the more you read, the more you will learn.

7) Software – I would firstly recommended Holdem Manager – A database that records all the hands you play so that you can review mistakes. It also allows you to have real time statistics about your opponents while you play. Table Ninja is a use program that allows you to use hot keys instead of clicking the buttons – Very useful if playing many tables.
Online Poker Training and Coaching – Numerous websites exist that offer coaching and training facilities, the most notable include Card Runners, Deuces Cracked and Poker Savvy.

9) Bonus collecting and find a poker room that suits you – Once you played enough hands at a poker room to collect the deposit bonus, it is time to move onto another room. Why not start collecting the next deposit bonus available? Eventually you should find a poker room that feels natural and the competition should be easy enough that you can make a steady profit.

10) Have fun and look after yourself – Poker is supposed to be entertaining. It can be hard on your financially and emotionally, but also very rewarding. Take the time out to relax a little and try to keep smiling.

Betfair is a company known primarily for its sports betting but the site also offers many poker games. It is one of the foremost sports betting organizations in the world andset has developed a robust infrastructure to manage a dependable and exciting place for poker players. Betfair has added some renowned professionals to their team including such glitterati as one of the top woman tournament poker players in the world, Annette “Annette_15″ Obrestad, Sorel “Imper1um” Mizzi and Peter Jepsen, making for a very strong team. One of the company’s claim to fame is its in-depth knowledge of all things regarding online gaming, this has overflowed into the poker application.

Betfair is duly proud of its status as the world’s largest gambling community and also justly proud of their private software. The site’s poker offerings and platforms are smooth running and reliable. Betfair was established in 1999-2000 by Andrew Black and Edward Wray and ever since the company’s goal was to own the best betting technologies in the industry. Betfair’s proprietary software with its multi-table media and custom foundation goes along nicely with their cash game and tournament features.

Betfair partners with the World Series of Poker Europe so it is little wonder that the company is extremely serious about its poker. The site features a schedule of tournaments and free plays every day. Considered by players to attract an aggressive player base plus loose funds from the sports book, every visitor can expect to see abundant cash. It is true that other sites offer more games, and traffic can be sparse due to the European time zone, the true poker aficionado will always find action at Betfair and can be assured of their value as a customer.

Because of its emphasis on its sports book, Betfair’s poker games can be on the soft side. Remember this though, sports bettors are true gamblers, no calculations involved here, so poker players find them to be ideal opponents.

The ongoing bonus programs are inspirational. Some of the best are Bankroll Booster, Poker points, tournament free rolls and specials too numerous to count. The site is especially fond of its free roll players and tournament players to whom value is important so really fine tournament promotions are part of the daily schedule. Poker points can be traded for many different things and sometimes can be used for a selection of discounts in the sports book. Regardless of which feature on the site you fancy, you are assured of top notch support.

The support is available 24/7 making players feel very comfortable. Support can be contacted by email and by phone and guarantees prompt, courteous resolution of all issues. The banking system is a partner of The Royal Bank of Scotland and offers several withdrawal options and the utmost security of the software. Betfair is renowned for its high level of support and their knowledge of gaming related technical issues. Very few users call upon the support staff, however, because the application is a breeze to navigate and virtually bug free.

Betfair is considered to be in the top twenty of online companies in the world and is the recipient of many business awards, the Queens Award for Enterprise among them. So it comes as no surprise that this site is the top choice of gamers everywhere. You should join them.

As every online poker player knows, there are scads of online poker sites to choose from, so which one fits the bill? Well, you should try Everest Poker, who is a leader in the industry and offers tips and advice to guide you safely through every step. It’s motto “Passionate About Your Game” describes to a tee it’s customer service attitude. The site is operated by Grand Virtual and offers 15 languages to make it a multi-cultural poker experience.

It is a member of the European Union and is a licensed and regulated business in Malta, so it is easy to get the idea that Everest Poker is serious about the gaming industry. The site has a close relative in Everest Bets, the sports book and a full feature casino, so the site is not exclusively for the poker player. It has put in the time, money and expertise to create software powerful enough to propel the company into global industry leadership.

The green and white bordered software is reliable and easily downloaded and set up. It uses checkboxes and tabs to enable utmost maneuverability. The mouse overs are used constantly to hover over avatars or your own hand with explanations of hand rankings and other details of the players.

One really fun feature of Everest Poker software is its interactive chat box allowing players to communicate brief comments like “good play” or “bad break” in many languages using the hot keys, F4 and F5. The interface is bright, bold and clearly marked for ease of use, which you will find quite intuitive as well.

There are over five thousand tables and twenty five thousand players managed efficiently through all games of tournament play and cash. No limit, fixed limit and pot limit holdem and Omaha are the mainstays of the cash games at Everest Poker. The betting formats begin with $.02/.04 to a high of $50/100.

There is a table-type key at the bottom of the screen and a custom tab to easily manage your cash game with no sweat. The rake is below industry standards to add another customer appreciation factor to this player-friendly site. No matter what your poker budget, you will find a tournament to your liking at Everest Poker with buy-ins as low as $.10 and as high as $365.00. There are some really sweet tournament structures and ample freerolls to appeal to even the most jaded online poker enthusiast.

Dreams really do come true at Everest Poker with the Live Dream promotion offering a $100,000 sponsorship to one fortunate winner. Then for tournament players, there is the Winners Choice series with terrific bonuses. Prize packages can be had with tournaments like Seefeld, the Helsinki freeze out, most major European events, and of course, the World Series of Poker. Stellar play is never forgotten in the live poker arena. Everest rewards its community of players with sit-n-go steps and other cash amassing opportunities.

Should any player encounter a problem on the site, there is 24/7 email support. The VIP high rollers also are given the option of phone support. Along with all this user friendliness is the How to Play Poker section and a well organized FAQ page. If you have any sort of problem, it will be resolved to your satisfaction on Everest Poker. The software testing is by Technical Systems Testing (STS) which also happens to audit the United States and Canadian lotteries. Clearly an institution of credibility in the gaming world. The banking system is quick and facile with the Malta’s Lotteries and Gaming Authority overseeing it. No player should ever feel that his privacy is being compromised while playing on the Everest Poker site.

Fabrice Soulier, Kim Wooka and World Series finalist Antoine Saout are just a few members of the illustrious group of European professionals that make up Everest Poker’s team of backers. The company just signed a sponsorship deal with The Spanish Poker Tour as another indication that Everest Poker is headed for the big time. With it’s huge number of delighted players and numerous gaming options, this is not a poker room that any online player enthusiast should overlook.

Most Internet users aren’t new to the idea of online casinos. Some of us have even tried them out to keep ourselves entertained while on break at the office or at home in our free time. Most online casino games are a lot like face to face ones. However, there’s one big difference – there’s no need to be in the same room as the dealer or your opponent. That makes it a lot more convenient to play.

There are two main types of online casino gamers. Some just play for the fun of it, and others are there to make some serious money. There are tons of online casino games that you can play at no cost, with no credit card or ID required. These games can be quite entertaining, and you can enter virtual poker rooms to challenge other players who do it just for fun. This way, you don’t risk losing any money.

Of course, free online casino games might not be your thing. Whether you feel better with some money at stake, are hoping to make it big, or just want to play against people who are a little more skilled than the ones you’ll find in the free rooms, you’ll need a credit card for other kinds of online gaming. There are a number of directories out there that’ll help you find the games you like to play.

Some of them will also offer information about particular events, and may give you a deal for joining certain casinos. Everyone who’s playing with real money wants to be sure they’re getting the most out of it, and are playing at quality tables. Fortunately, there are plenty of casinos that offer some extras with your membership by matching your initial deposit or offering other benefits. Search through the listings to find the ones that’ll offer you the best deals.

There are also a number of different types of game engine. Flash games can be played on any computer, but have a number of limitations and some fairly primitive graphics. Downloaded casino software is usually dedicated to a particular online casino, but it’ll give you a lot more out of your game, and will allow you to feel like you’re really there. It’s probably the best choice for the dedicated player.

So what makes the best online casino games? The truth is that it depends on the person. Some people want the best odds of winning with no worry about losing. Others are looking for a game where the other players are serious about the game and really know what they’re doing. Ask yourself what you’re looking for in online gaming when you go looking for the right rooms for you. Online poker is one of the most popular types of games, but other people enjoy blackjack, roulette, and other games both on and offline. It really all comes down to personal preference.

Inetbet is a successful and premier internet casino, founded in 1999, offering the chance to play for money or to play for free to players worldwide (including bettors in the US). Whether you are an seasoned casino player or a novice, Inetbet is an internet casino that will provide you with all your betting needs.

Rush Poker is the new method of playing Poker. Earlier players played against the same set of people at a table, until the tables were balanced or until the last player was left at a table. However in the new way of playing, the players keep on rotating randomly from one table to the other. It does not matter whether one is playing Omaha Hi/Lo, Texas Hold ‘Em or Stud, the latest way of playing Poker fully alters the manner in which you play Poker.

You start a tournament with 1500 chips (unless you are in a short stack or deep stack tournament) and will have all of the normal choices depending on your game: Check, Bet, Raise and Fold. If you check, bet or raise, that hand will continue until the end, or if you fold. The difference between normal games and Rush poker is that when you Fold, you are instantly dropped from the table and changed to a different table, with completely new people chosen at random.

Most Rush Poker tournaments require a buy in, but there are two in which you can get into on Full Tilt Free roll tournaments.

Outside of the tournament area, you can also play Rush Poker at a few of Full Tilt’s many Ring Games. The Ring Game blinds vary depending on what amount you wish to play with. The difference between the Ring Game version and the Tournament version is that you may not leave a tournament at any time but in a ring game, you can take your winnings or cut your losses at any time.

The action oriented poker player loves to play Rush Poker, who without any wait play or delay can drop their hand instantly and move on to the next hand. However, there are few things where a player needs to take care when playing Rush Poker.

First of all, when you fold a hand, you can not go back and look at your hand history to see what you would have gotten in the hand. Second, until you get farther into the tournaments, you are playing against fresh faces in every single hand. You won’t be able to determine the fish from the Pro’s, mainly. Third, since most of the people will not see you for more then a hand, they can not make reads on you and be able to tell what kind of hand you have based on your betting. It is best to play very tightly since you can see more hands, and build up your chip stack early on good chances.

Whether it’s for pleasure or for your own money if you’re after some advanced Rush Poker techniques or just more general poker advice, make sure you check out the KushMoney Poker Blog.

When the game starts, a dealer button is used to identify the player sitting in the dealer position. Then the button rotates clockwise after every hand, also moving the position of the blinds. The small blind is always put in by the player immediately to the left of the dealer and is usually equal to half of the big blind. The big blind is equal to the minimum bet, and is put in by the player to the left of the small blind.

Two cards are dealt to every player face down, the small blind receives the first card and the deal proceeds clockwise from there. These two cards are the player’s hole cards, and remain private for the entire hand until the showdown. Texas Hold em uses a standard 52-card deck.

There will be a first round of betting that takes place after the two cards are dealt but before any community cards are shown. The two blinds that have been put in will be a part of what those players must contribute in order to stay in the hand. If no one has raised by the time play gets around to the big blind, that player may check or raise.

After this initial round, the dealer puts out a flop, three face-up cards which are used by every player. Then a second round of betting takes place, starting with the player to the left of the dealer.

Then comes another community card, called the turn or fourth street, is dealt face up. This is followed by a third round of betting and then a final community card, the river, is placed face up. A final round of betting takes place and then the showdown, if there are still two or more players left.

The Texas Hold em rules state that if the best hand is shared by more than one player, the pot is split equally among them. Any extra chips go to the first player to come after the dealer button in clockwise order. It’s fairly common for players to have hands that are closely-valued, but not identically ranked. It is important to be careful in determining the best hand when the hand involves fewer than five cards, this is when kickers are used to settle ties. Suit is of no importance, only the numerical value matters. The last player to bet is always the first player to show their hand.

One poker site on the web that is growing by leaps and bounds is Cake. If you don’t know about it now, you soon will. Cake’s very apt and descriptive motto is “get a piece of the action.” The site exists to enhance its domain by attracting and rewarding it’s visitors.. The players are instantly rewarded by being able to play online poker in a secure and friendly environment. Features such as cell phone play options and a distinctive blog will appeal to the younger generation of poker players. Cake is a future-oriented poker site. The players anonymity is assured by being given the ability to change their screen name every seven days. This is just one of many unusual features of the site and is one of the reasons why it is no surprise that Cake is a growing concern.

Cake software can be downloaded as you blink. The site is divided between ring game and tournament play. It uses a tab functioning process and is loaded with desirable features. Included in the software functionality are options such as table resizing, unusual table backgrounds and a cutting edge tournament filtering system. Cake offers a web-based hand history tool allowing the player to easily post his hands and share hands with others over the net Players can enjoy these as well as many other features on Cake. It becomes clear why the site is growing.

Poker stakes on the site range from a low of $.02/.04 to a whopping $500/1000 for the very serious players. The tournaments begin at $.25 and can soar to $5000. There are seven distinct ring and tournament games offered including no limit holdem, fixed limit holdem, pot limit holdem, Omaha, Omaha hi-lo, seven card stud and seven card hi-lo. At any given time, once could find 500 tables and 4,000 players indulging in one of the games on the site. Smaller crowds than at some sites, yes, but at Cake you have a chance of being rewarded with extensive promotions and bonus programs.

Among the bonuses offered, the most prevalent is the Gold card. This is based on hands played and the rake paid. Gold cards are collected and can be redeemed for cash and merchandise. It’s this collectable aspect that gives players a thrill. Gold chips are another bonus strategy. These are awarded to the players who frequent the site the most and earn points through their play. Gold chips can be traded for merchandise at the Cake store, which carries items in the sports, media and gaming classifications. Currently, gold stacks are being added on a trial basis. This differs from the existing programs in that it is an instant rewards program. No matter how you take advantage of the site, Cake has an avid support staff to help you work your way through any problems you may run into.

This support staff is on hand 24/7 but only by email. They do their utmost to give prompt and courteous service to all inquiries and are proud of their success in this endeavor. The site allows each player to manage the length and skill level of his play on the software and the help desk is there to solve any problems that may arise here as well. Due to the rapid growth of the site’s popularity, there have been on occasion glitches in the deposit and withdrawal aspects of the software. Do not fret, they are all over this issue and are handling this and any other technical difficulties that naturally occur with expansion and continuous improvement of the site.

Cake will never disappoint. Even though it is not as big as the really big sites, it has the features in place to grow at a very fast pace and is one of the few who cares very much about its poker playing guests. So give Cake a whirl and have a ball.

If you want to find the games that bring in the most players and the most money then you are in luck. But do not forget that winning money is not the only reason people play poker. There is also the thrill of the challenge and the sheer fun of the endless variety of poker games out there. Whether you are in a traditional casino or playing online, poker is always a great way to have some fun and maybe even win some money as well.

Whether it may seem like it or not, there are over a hundred various types of poker games out there to play. But while there are over a hundred, only a handful stands out as the most popular. But before you get started you want to make sure that you are learning the rules for each so that you may have the best chance possible at winning.

There are 5 top poker variations and they are:

Texas Hold?em

Omaha Hold?em

7 card stud poker

Draw poker

Lowball

Each of these poker variations will have their own set of rules that are different from one another. But even with that, within each variation of poker there are additional variations on the limits. There is the pot limit, the no limit, the hi-lo, and other kinds of limit variations. Some give the players a better advantage over others and some people find that they simply adapt better to one version over another. You will find what suits you the best by researching the rules and giving them all a try.

Another great thing is that you can pretty much count on these top 5 poker variations to be found in every casino in the world. The same games that are being played in your neighbors house, the local casino, and the club can be found online. Texas Hold’em, 7 Card Stud, and Omaha Hold’em are the ones that generally feature the large tournaments.

Even though there are basic rules for all poker games, there are going to be many specialty rules that cater to the specific variation of poker that you are playing. If you are not familiar with the rules of the game you will find it very difficult to make a lot of money. The best thing to do is to research the rules and all of the strategy hints that you can find. You will then want to take your knowledge to the free tables and play there until you are extremely confident in your poker skills before moving on to the real money games.

Inetbet is the premier online casino, online since 1999, offering the chance to play for money or to play for free to players worldwide (including bettors in the US). Whether you are an experienced casino player or a novice, Inetbet is an online casino that will provide you with all your casino needs.

Before you download the software, you must fill out some forms which adds a minute or two to the process. Once that task is accomplished though, the download is fast and as smooth as silk. Like Cake Poker, the software is tab-based and very easy to maneuver around in. Both the Cake Poker and Doyles Room software run on the Cake Network, making the similarities no surprise. The interface and the company offers an unusual casino feature, which further sets this site apart from the rest. On Doyles Room you will easily have access games like No Limit, Limit, and Pot Limit Holdem, Omaha and 7 card stud games as well as cash games and tournaments.

The rewards are paid in cash at the end of each month. The players also can play for miles through the several different types of gold playing cards. Those players in the top fifty mile earning level reap rewards of anywhere between $150 up to $1,000 every month.

The Carbon Poker homepage will greet you with lots of action. It is part of the Merge Gaming Network and seeks to attain customer loyalty through its distinctive marketing campaign. The highlights of the site are player reviews, a video poker library and a constantly updated blog to name just a few. Carbon poker is cutting edge with its twitter feeds and forums intriguing old and new customers alike.

The software can be downloaded easily with no hassles. The application is similar to Poker Nordica, so those familiar with that software will have an easy time getting to know Carbon Poker. A nifty feature is the Player Tag allowing a player to note and follow his competition to help him plan strategies and gear up. The company is very proud of its software’s vector graphics making for sharp dependable play.

Multi- tabling is handled without fuss and blackjack or roulette can be added to the mix to keep you on your toes. That old favorite of Daniel Negraneu of revealing one card and pestering his opponent is a fundamental of competitive poker. This site has brought back that little yummy and allows opponents to expose just one single card before the muck.

Rabbit hunting and dealing it twice have long been a staple only in games with the highest of rollers, but here everyone can partake. The tabs and buttons on the application are clearly defined and let players become aware easily of all the attractions they are in for on the site.

There will be 5,000 players on the site at any time during a 24-hour period to take advantage of all the site has to offer. The standard casino games are present here but poker is the emphasis of the site. Cash game limits begin at $.02/.04 and go on up to $50/100. The games you will find are numerous and include limit, pot, limit and no limit holdem, Omaha, 7 card stud, 5 card draw, 5 card stud, Badugi, HO, HORSE, HOSE, Razz, triple draw 2-7 and A-5. No wonder players love this place.

You can easily manage all your games at Carbon Poker by taking advantage of the custom tab enabling you to design your own poker room to include just your favorite games and limits. Tournament are huge at Carbon Poker. Ranging from buy ins of $.06 to $109 for their super $50,000.00 guaranteed Sunday spectacular, this is one for everybody to join in. There is a large selection of private tournaments and leagues for that personalized playing experience.

The super hands pay super well. Should a Royal Flush with two hole cards played come your way, you have gotten yourself one hundred times the big blind. The staunch tournament aficionado will go for the multi-table and sit-n-go tournament leader boards to rake in points and entries into events with lucrative prize packages and payouts.

Carbon Poker hosts a fierce comprehensive VIP program that is in the forefront of player rewards and promotions. Do not dismiss the super special deals like the Win Big in 2010 promotion wherein players move their way through twenty five tiers of cash prizes and wallet padding levels. There are satellites to please players that run for the Asia-Pacific Poker tour, the World Poker Tour, Aussie Millions and the World Series of Poker further exemplifying the zeal in which Carbon Poker goes after wishing their customers to be successful in a fun, secure place.

The site is secured by a 128-bit data encryption and Thawte SSL certificates to position itself to give their customers the highest level of security and software reliability. The product is overseen by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and tested by Gaming Associates, Inc which further cements its reputation for dependability and trust. Players receive a dose of tender loving care with super fast payouts and 24/7 email support that delivers prompt and poignant answers to all queries. The usual chores inherent in online poker sites like account verification, file submission and uploading can be done simply and quickly putting the customer that much more at ease.

Carbon Poker can hold its head up with pride as one of the most fun and reliable online poker sites around, and it goes way out there to hold onto to its position as well as its customers. Players need to go no further than Carbon Poker to satisfy their dream of the ultimate gaming experience.

Absolute Poker has been around for years and is well known within the online poker community where it is immensely popular. Professionals such as lacy Jones and Matt Vengrin and reality TV stars like Trishelle Cannatella are regularly featured on the site adding even more followers. No surprise then that the CEREUS poker network boasts of his primiere status.

Absolute Poker is a trusted site partially due to its ownership by Tokwiro Enterprises Enrg and licensed by the Kahanawake Gaming Commission. It’s mission statement is a testament to its reliability – “To continue to be the best and most trusted.” The Absolute Poker team works round the clock to give its online players an exclusive and dynamic poker experience and the team strives for improvement of the software continuously.

The software is so robust that it does take longer to download than many another sites, but be patient and you will be amply rewarded. There is a similar sensibility to Full Tilt Poker in that they both run and perform bug-free and smooth as silk. Absolute poker has created a simple game key at the bottom of the screen and tabs that are very clear to ensure that its users are afforded many intuitive and uplifting hours of entertainment. A quite unusual and really knockout feature of the software is that it is amenable to both the MAC and PC platforms so everyone can take advantage of what it has to offer.

The avatars, hot keys and rabbit cams can be easily changed to suit the users mood and/or taste, adding yet another goody to its field of goodies. Exclusive to Absolute Poker software is the presence of seven deuce tables adding greatly to their software bragging rights. The player who wins at one of these tables reaps additional money from all the other players at the table. The bad beat jackpot meter is flashing its increasing numbers higher and higher and also carrying on are casino and blackjack buttons making it an interface for all to get a kick out of..

Because of the site’s longevity and size, one can encounter over three thousand active tables at any given time and over twenty thousand players on Absolute Poker 24/7. Due to this volume, you will also encounter a variety of games such as limit, no limit and pot limit holdem as well as Omaha, Omaha hi-lo, seven card stud, seven card stud hi-lo and razz. For the expert player, there are mixed games to challenge his skill like HORSE and HOSE.

Beginners are not forgotten with their choice of betting levels starting at $.01/.02 and going all the way up to $200/$400 for the more experienced player. There are tournament lobbies as well on the site gaining quite a following. Sit-n-go buy in can be as high $5000 and the standard tournaments will usually run beginning at $2500 making the site a go-to choice for tournament aficionados. Large guarantee tournaments as high as two hundred thousand prize pools take place every weekend and on Wednesdays that keep those aficionados returning to the site again and again. Blackjack tournaments are available to those poker players having a bad day or just simply wanting to try their hand at something else. The huge player base translates to huge rewards for the lucky winners.

Like so many of the major online poker sites, the amassing of player points is an important feature of play. Because of the Power Hour promotion on the site, Absolute Poker is able to increase the players income. These special hours allow players to collect even more points than usual. The freerolls option is another feature of the site that rewards the players handsomely. Then there is the Donkament that includes unique tournaments where buy in is with player points but payout is real money in ample supply.

The UBOC Online Championship of Poker is arguably the dominating promo of Absolute Poker. This is a marathon of eighteen events spanning twelve days where players vie for over four million dollars worth of prizes. The players are gleefully agitated as they work their way through the events in anticipation of what lies ahead for them.

For free money players, there is a distinctive bonus offering called the Ten Million Chips Hall of Fame. The play money player visiting the site who gets to the ten million in play chips marker is eligible to win a $50 real money reward after a first time deposit. A hefty bad beat jackpot and the voluminous player rewards shop are other examples of the many incentives lying in wait for the player on the website and contribute to the attractions of this secure and dependable network.

Email is the only means of contacting Absolute Poker, but the help options are many with informative pages and a FAQ section. There will be an answer to a visitors question 99.9% of the time with these tools. Absolute Poker is thoroughly committed to reliability and security to ensure that its huge volume of players is properly cared for.

Whether newcomer or sly veteran on the prowl, this site is a haven for anyone looking for a game. Absolute Poker as a company with a sturdy foundation manages a massive number of cheerful players.

Whatever your interests, there is someone, somewhere on the net who shares that interest and will be interesting to contact. Perhaps you have some curiosity about how to recognize online poker cheats. Numerous others have an interest in the same thing. It isn’t really so difficult to deal with when you know how. Perhaps this short article could make it simpler for you to reach your goals regarding recognize online poker cheats. To add to your understanding, continue reading. Find out about the best way to recognize online poker cheats in 3 simple steps!

The first step to be taken is knowing how to play the game before you participate in one of these online playing sites. You will need to do this because you will not be able to recognize a player as being out of order or not within strict rules guidelines if you have no handle on how the game is to be played. You will need to carefully avoid getting too emotionally involved with the play itself because you can lose your advantage with the other players and eventually lose your money too.

It will be very important to finish this 1st step correctly, completely and well. If for any reason you cannot complete it correctly, then don’t try to compete with other players who have much more experience than you do because you will not be able to gain a foothold if you don’t know the game.

The next step is going to be making sure you understand the rules of the game, and just how much investment is expected of you when you first join the site. Things you will want to avoid here are getting too involved too quickly if you are not sure of what you are doing. And you should try to avoid being too open with the other players on the site because you will give away your play advantage.

The third step is knowing your limits and acting within them so you don’t act like a fool and subsequently lose your status in the game or possibly a lot of money. This is very important because everyone there on the site is there to win in one way or another. What is important to avoid is playing the game too hard and too fast especially if you don’t have a complete working knowledge of how the game is structured or played.

Go through the steps exactly as presented above and everything should go well. You’ll have handled recognizing online poker cheats easily and rapidly be on to other pursuits. Just continue with the steps in order, for the reasons as explained, while carefully avoiding the traps, problems and potential mistakes mentioned. Then congratulate yourself as you actually take pleasure in the benefits and rewards of having successfully recognized online poker cheats! And all by only your personal efforts!
